THE BEST SEX I’VE EVER HAD
Presented by Oldenburgisches Staatstheater, Pazz International Performing Arts Festival and
Mammalian Diving Reflex

Many people do it, but few speak about it: aging and sexuality are not contradictions. About 60% of women and 80% of men between the age of 50 and 70 state they have regular sex. But it‘s not easy to talk about it. Children, grandchildren and friends often react with disgust : »At your age?«

In April 2011 a group of women and men all over the age of 65 share their insights on the evolution of sexuality over the course of a lifetime and what it takes to still make it happen. Mammalian Diving Reflex is back in Oldenburg (after their first development phase in April 2010 as part of PAZZ 2010) to continue their work and bring The Best Sex I‘ve Ever Had to a new level.

The production will tour with a changing cast of previous performers and new local participants, who will be interviewed and included in the production with each new city. The taboo topic of aging and sexuality will be researched and explored, highlighting differences and similarities in different countries and cultures.
